Press Release
As the who's who of the film & music industry take over the hip ski town of Park City, snowstorms continue to cover our three resorts, with Utah's world famous "Greatest Snow on Earth".
Opening Day of the festival began with snow falling & the world premier of the Australian film, Wish You Were Here. In contrast to the cold temperatures outside, the Australian cast & crew received a warm welcome as Joel Edgerton, Felicity Price, Teresa Palmer & Antony Star joined writer/director Keiran Darcy-Smith at a Q & A, following the much anticipated screening.
The spectacular Day One party, kicked off later in the evening at Legacy Lodge located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort. Guests who had to queue to get in, were offered hot chocolate & cider as snow continued throughout the night, setting a perfect scene for Robert Redford's annual Independant Film Festival. Only very few party guests left early, keen to claim fresh tracks in the morning!
Celebrities attending the festival to date include: Richard Gere, Bruce Willis, Taylor Swift, Mary J Blige, Liv Tyler, Kirsten Dunst, Paris Hilton, Isla Fisher, Spike Lee, Elijah Wood, Corbin Bernsen, Helen Hunt, Danny Glover, James Marsden & Victoria Justice.
Musicians that have performed at the festival to date include: LMFAO, Mary J Blige & Ice-T who took to the stage to perform with Chuck D & Grandmaster Caz, following the screening of his film Something from Nothing:The Art Of Rap.
Snow storms are set to continue throughout the festival, which concludes on January 29.
