ON THE GROUND REPORT

Sep 25 2023 06:43 AM: It is the last day of the season with lifts closing today and there is a thin cover on Front Valley. It is +5.4 at the base in Perisher with a westerly wind at 17ks, the forecast for WNW winds at 25-35ks. Just four lifts on Front Valley open today, the V8 and three beginners conveyor bels on a limited cover, and get out there early as the snow will get very slow and start to disappear as we head for a top of 13 degrees. The groomers have done an awesome job keepng it open for as long as they can, but it is looking sad out there and a good day to pull the pin. An early and pretty abrupt end to the season, but given the early summer temps and hairdryer NW winds last week, the early closure was inevitable. Not the best winter but there were a lot of fun days this season, hope you got your fair share of them. Thanks for reading the reports, have a great summer and see you next year. - Reggae
