Sometimes we won't agree exactly with the model data - but if we ever call something significantly different we'll do our best to explain why.

Conditions Summary:
A little warning before we start today’s detailed forecast: The 3-hourly data above in the graph still has a little technical glitch. The daily data in the table is fine. We’re working on this, and should have it fixed today, but in the meantime I’ve got you covered below.

Dustings of snow here and there. It should have been all snow-guns blazing overnight as temperatures dropped nice and low. Clawing our way towards a few more open runs.

Synoptic Outlook:
There are still a few showers drifting into Gippsland on a southerly but essentially a ridge of high pressure owns the next 3 days. No snow, but cold to very cold overnight temperatures for snow making.

On Saturday a low pressure system will approach from the west and may deliver some patchy snow, or it may pull up short and deliver squat. It’s not clear right now.

So far there’s nothing but thin slivers of hope in the extended outlook below. Sigh.

Wednesday 19 June:
Isolated snow flurries clearing.

Thursday 20 June:
Mostly fine, but still cold.

Friday 21 June:
Mostly fine, but still cold.

Saturday 22 June:
Chance of some patchy snow

Extended Outlook:
On Sunday we will see some sort of east coast low form and there is a chance it will force rain into the Snowy Mountains from the east. There is hope for snow if this thing can just sit there for a while or move a little further south than currently forecast, but right now I’m not getting my hopes up, because it may also move further north and then we’ll see nothing. Expect that forecast to jump around a bit over the next two days.

The next great white hope comes in the form of a weak cold front in the middle to end of next week. Maybe, maybe not, is all I’ll say right now.
