You may already be aware that Shaun White’s Big Air competition is coming soon to Sydney shores. What you might not have heard yet is that international superstar acts, Flo Rida and Snow Patrol have been announced as the first two of three headline acts to perform live music at the internationally acclaimed snowsports festival.

It’ll be the first time the Air + Style Big Air competition will be held in the Southern Hemisphere, and certainly the first time Sydney will have seen anything like it.

“We are going to bring the mountain to the city and take over the Domain with snow, music, culture and tech,” said Shaun White.

The event will see 60 of the world's best male and female skiers and snowboarders launch themselves off of a purpose-built snow covered 16 storey ramp in Sydney’s Domain over three days on August 3rd, 4th and 5th.

The original and longest-standing Big Air snowboarding competition, which debuted as an Olympic sport at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games, will Include skiing for the first time in Sydney.

The event has previously entertained fans in Innsbruck, Beijing and Los Angeles, the Sydney leg part of a wider world tour.

In the past Air + Style stages have hosted the likes of Major Lazer, Flume, Portugal the Man, J.Cole and even Kendrick Lamar. With one more major headlining artist yet to be announced and a score of other performers, tickets won’t be around for long.

Irish-Scottish rockers Snow Patrol will perform at the festival on Saturday, 4th August, as part of their first Sydney show since 2012. The festival will also be the band’s only Sydney show of their upcoming trip down under, touring a new 2018 album. Rapper Flo Rida, on the other hand, will be performing exclusively at Air + Style, with his first Australian show in over six years.

Note that this is roughly a quarter of the number of athletes we can expect!
