Snow Journal 9 - 10 November

Old Man Winter forcefully reminded Ski Town USA just who is in charge this winter dropping snow throughout the day and bringing colder temperature across the Yampa Valley.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a winter storm warning and advisories in effect through today for the mountains and the northwest Colorado valleys. Snow will continue through today especially over the mountains and north. The most snow will fall over the northern and central mountains of western Colorado where up to one foot of snow is expected by late this afternoon.

Another storm moves across the area late Wednesday through Thursday with localized moderate amounts of snow expected in the mountains. Then the chance of snow will develop again during the weekend through early next week as a couple of disturbances pass over the region.

The resort is scheduled to open Wednesday, November 24, 2010 with Scholarship Day, the traditional opening day benefit, with proceeds from specially-priced tickets donated to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's Scholarship Fund.
