“… so picklelicous that even Woody Harrelson has one.”
When will the guys at Mervin stop thinking, seriously? A few years ago they brought us MagneTraction (wavy sidewall), then not long after Banana Technology (boards with rocker) and now the Park Pickle! There seems to be a theme here, long cylindrical fruit & veg, maybe they had something on their mind at the time!
So what is the Park Pickle? The Pickle was designed based on the theory that heelside turns are harder than toeside turns. The Pickle has a deeper sidecut on the heelside rendering it easier to turn. Forget symmetry Mervin believe its all about asymmetry – think Picasso’s head – and they seem to be onto a good thing.
The boards are perfect twin shape so no matter if you are goofy or regular, you can ride the board with the deeper sidecut on your heel edge.
According to GNU’s Pete Saari, “The Park Pickle achieves perfect balance through asymmetry, a deeper sidecut and asymmetric core on the heel edge balances you’re foots asymmetry and the different turn mechanics between heel and toe turns. Twin Asymmetric Banana MagneTraction design is the future of all terrain freestyle performance snowboards. Pickle Power!”
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The boards have been receiving rave reviews and are apparently so picklelicous that even Woody Harrelson has one. Don’t believe me? Check it out for your self at the Gnu website www.gnu.com
