Sydney, April 16th. RED Protection are pleased to announce that Nate Johnstone has signed to the Australian team, joining the likes of international riders Peetu Piiroinen, Shaun White and Danny Davis as a part of the RED family.
A Sydney Northern Beaches local, 20 year old Nate is arguably Australia’s leading male Halfpipe rider, supported by his bag of solid results on the FIS world tour which saw his world ranking elevated to number two and awarded him selection for the 2010 winter Olympics. On signing Nate had this to say; “I’m really happy to have the support of RED. I’ve been riding their helmets for years and I’m stoked to finally be a part of the team”.
An extremely well rounded rider who is just as at home in the park or backcountry as he is the Halfpipe, Nate brings a wealth of talent, progression, and creativity to the RED Team. “We are pumped to have Nate on the team and his riding and personality is a perfect fit for the RED brand. The level of riding progressed so much in the race to the Vancouver games and Nate has blown me away with by not only staying on top of it, but learning and throwing tricks faster and bigger than everyone else” Chris Boadle, Australian team manager.
