Two groups of people camped overnight at Coronet Peak and around 1500 people turned up to greet the first day of the winter snowsports season in Queenstown NZ on Saturday June 5.
The resort’s new NZSki radio frequency system was launched and Arcadia bubbly served as the crowd counted down to try out their MyPass replacing the old lift ticket system for the first time.

Andrew Benington, Conor Dolman, Jonty Norton Connor Gambels all aged 15 of Queenstown are the first season pass holders on the new Meadows Express.
Karl Hunt, Mathew Rovers and Brendon Cameron settled in for a long night on the slopes. The trio kept warm with pizza, supplied free of charge by Slice Pizza and delivered for half price Alpine Taxis. Their chilly night was rewarded as they were first to ride the Coronet Express for the 2010 season.
