Snowboarding Urban Russia

December 2nd, 2009

Two great webisodes following Eero Ettala and the Oakley crew as they explore Russia.

“Russia man, that place, I don’t even know where to start. It was really cool going to Russia, very random, you feel like going way back in time when you are there. Everything looks old and exploded, but it’s so perfect for jibbing and the coolest scenery ever! We gathered a great crew of riders to go on this jib mission, including Eiki Helgason, Erik Botner and myself.

We ended up going to this old mine town called Kirovsk, but we didn’t really have too much info about the town and even less about the spots we ended up finding. There was so much snow in the city, which really made our trip happen.” – Eero Ettala

Eero Ettala is one of the most progressive snowboarders on the planet. He’s been owning technical double cork tricks before they were even called double corks. After 10 years filming with Mack Dawg, in 2009 Eero was left with no filming gig when Mack Dawg shut up shop. So Oakley stepped up with the cheque book and they came up with the idea of Eero filming his own TV series during the winter with Oakley’s best snowboard athlete’s, which happen to be some of the best snowboarders in the world anyways.

Tracking Eero – the TV series will be airing world wide very soon. To stay on track go to: trackingeero.com
