In a joint effort to make the World Snowboarding Championships (WSC) the pinnacle event of next season, WAS and the event organizers creates the Snow Board. Through the Snow Board, WAS will give advice and help making a great event.
The Snow Board, consisting of WAS members will advice on slope design, event format, scheduling, prize money spread, safety, rider services and other relevant sports issues.
- The WAS mission is to grow the interest for snowboarding on a global scale. By making our sport better, more snowboarders can live the dream and become professionals. Having a say in this early stage of the WSC planning is great for us, and we hope more events get inspired by this, says WAS founder, Chas Guldemond.
- Working with the riders is crucial when developing an event. Establishing this partnership while we still have time to make changes and adapt to riders’ needs, is pivotal. WAS will dedicate time and know-how to us and will get a better event in return, says WSC CEO Henning Andersen.
The World Snowboarding Championships is a partnership between TTR and World Snowboard Federation (WSF). The event is going down in Oslo February 10 to 19 next year, and is gathering the 240 best snowboarders in the world to battle for halfpipe and slopestyle championships titles. WSC holds a financial guarantee from the Municipality of Oslo and is organized by the seasoned crew behind The Arctic Challenge.
