Record Depends on Mens Ice Hockey Match

It comes down to this.

Yesterday Twenty Ten observed that the gold medal mens ice hockey match would represent Canada's battle for most gold medals won, even if the medal standings didn't literally rest on this final game.

But how things do change. Thanks to a record setting three gold medals in one day, Canada now holds 13 gold medals - equalling the record of Norway and the Soviet Union for a nation's gold medal haul at a winter Olympics. Should they win the hockey today, they will set a new record.

If it's even possible, the expectations placed on the Canadian mens ice hockey team just got bigger.
