There’s just 10 days to go ’til the Snowy Mountains of Music Festival lights up winter.

The festival is snowballing and there’s just 10 days to go ’til over 130 concerts, workshops, dances and performances wake up Perisher. At just $135 for a long weekend festival pass, it’s going to be the biggest winter party ever!

The program is now official so get your skates on and make sure you get there on Friday 11th June as there’s 18 bands scheduled to start the party! The music starts at 5pm at Smiggins, the Sundeck Hotel and The Man From Snowy River with the sounds of Rough Red, The Lurkers, and Damien & Caroline followed by Jan Preston, Big Erle, The Tealeaves, Kim Churchill and many, many more!

Saturday is going to be huge and kicks off with the Official Opening at Jax Bar at 10:30am which will see special guests taking to the stage including our festival ambassadors Cross-Country Skiing Olympians Ben Sim and Esther Bottomley as well as a traditional Welcome to Country by Jarmbi’s Corrobborree. All 12 venues are now open so take the plunge and learn tango or African percussion, soak up one of Australia’s most legendary artists Mick Thomas from Weddings Parties Anything, and dance the night away with festival favourite A French Butler Called Smith. The music will be whipping up a storm till late across the snow but make sure you make it down to Jax at 7pm for the WIN Television Concert which will bring 3 of our headliners together for one huge concert – Chase the Sun, Jeff Lang and Mista Savona.

Sunday – why don’t you wake up to a good coffee and some poetry in the mountains and test your metal for the Snowy Poetry Cup, which is later in the day at the Eiger? Thrill the kids at the Perisher Centre with Zamboni the Magician, Circus Wow and Doctor Stovepipe on the menu; try your hand at the mandolin; and enjoy a smorgasboard of music from The Crooked Fiddle Band to Wongawilli, Vorn Doolette, Grimick, Pete Wild and the Only Ones and The Barons of Tang. The Smigs Stage at Smiggins is the place to crank out your Sunday Night with the Handpicked Concert from 5pm with none other than Chase the Sun, The Tealeaves, the formidable Jeff Lang and it’s your one chance to see Blue King Brown who’ll get everyone jiving and jumping till past midnight.
Monday take a chill pill and slide into the last day of the festival with some powerful vocals with Sabrina and the Red Vans and get folked out with the elder statesman of Australian folk – Bruce Watson. The kids activities at the Perisher Centre end at lunchtime so keep the little ones entertained with Gobsmacked and some quiet stories with Lilli Pilli. Wind down at Smiggins with the finale concert with all your favourite bands and end the festival on a high with one last hurrah with the boys of funk from the GC – A French Butler Called Smith.

Don’t forget the kids activities run all weekend and are free for kids who come to the festival with a paying parent. If you want to stay on snow you’d better be quick as accommodation is going fast from just $385 which includes festival pass plus 3 nights accommodation, bed and breakfast! The National Parks and Wildlife Service is offering all festival visitors a special Three for Two days entry ticket into the Kosciuszko National Park for the Summer rate of only $34. And, festival pass holders who want to dust off their skis can pick up a lift pass from only $120 for adults and $66 for children and ride the Perisher Quad Lift Chair for free!
