On the boat packing my gear.

We are so stoked to have finally arrived in Ushuaia with all our gear.

We had a very smooth flight down here with a quick overnight stop in Buenos Aires.  Ushuaia town has quite a similar feel to an small Alaskan town.  Last night we met up with one of our filmers Doug Workman and also the writer from Outside Rob Story who will be joining us on this great adventure.

In the morning we checked out the boat and they were busy doing their final preparations for a potential departure tomorrow morning. Looks like there might be some bigger seas later on in the week so we it might be a good idea to head off sooner then later.   We loaded the boat this afternoon with all the gear and got settled into our cabins, Greg Von Doreston just arrived and met us out at the boat, so the team is slowly assembeling.  In about 30 min we are about to head out to the airport to meet the rest of the crew.  It is definitely getting exciting now!

Stian dragging some of the gear to the boat – ready to set sail!

Chris Daveport and the rest of the camera crew arrived late last night.  We all loaded the gear onto the boat and were very pleased that everyone arrived with all the gear.  We are now getting ready to leave the hotel and head for our home, Australis the boat for the next 3 weeks.  We have a weather window for the next 3 days so we are keen to set sail today and get down there before the heavy seas arrive.  I am not sure how much I will be able to update from now on as I just heard that getting online might be quite the challenge.  But as for now we are looking good and setting sail! we will be back on the 18th December, I know that for sure!

Till then! am now off on a great adventure….a TRIP OF A LIFE TIME!
