23 – 24 July, 2010 – Falls Creek Sunny Days

Sun and the snowgun has been the story of season 2010 in Australia, this week was no exception with frigid overnight temperatures mostly -5 or -6C, massive snowmaking sessions and glowing sunshine throughout the day.
It’s amazing what the snowmakers have been able to achieve really. The crew headed out experiencing surface conditions you’d normally expect to find after a moderate snowfall in mid season – squeaky and great for fast carving.
Also evolving on a day to day basis are the two parks at Falls – Drovers park offering a couple of kickers and Ruined Castle offering rails and boxes including a new rainbow box.
Falls is fortunate enough to still offer ski in ski out snow to most of the lodges, the home trails have been solidified by extensive snowmaking. While we are still hanging out for the next big dump to open expert terrain and the remaining front side of the mountain, most of the crew are happy enough to catch some rays until the next new snowfall arrives next week.
