Canadian duo destroyers Charles Reid and Sebastien Toutant dominated the 28 Stairs rail event tonight at Falls Creek. The snow has finally stopped in Falls creek and the wind chilled out long enough to allow Stylewars and the 30 odd riders gathered to finally compete in the middle of Falls Creek village under lights.
The field was narrowed down to 6 finalists after a 1 hour jam session for another 30 minute battle for $5000 cash.
Sebastien Toutant CAN
Charles Reid CAN
Tom Pelley AUS
Keiran McLaughlan AUS
Mark Sollars CAN
Eric Willet USA
It was a ridiculous level of riding with Charles and Toots going trick for trick gapping the middle kink with every variation of 270 including inward 270, backside, frontside, cab, and switch backside.
In the end the judges couldn’t choose a winner so they gave it to both the boys to split the money.
Best trick went to Mark Sollars also from Canada with a frontside 450 to boardslide gap down the left kink round bar.
Check back later for photos and video from the event.
The party continues with huge night of music at The Frying Pan featuring S1, Mr Rex and DJ Perplex.
With the weather looking to clear for the next two days Stylewars continues this week with a possible competition day tomorrow up at Ruined Castle snowboard park where the two Canadians will again battle to try and take the overall lead on the Swatch TTR World Tour. (www.ttrworldtour.com)
