What Snowboarding Gave The Internet This Week
Andy James x Odd Folks Full Part
Andy James is one of the best rail riders to come out of the Southern Hemisphere and is now making a name for himself in the international scene. Having filmed for months over the 15/16 season, Andy has put together one of the best video segments from any Australian rider to date in the recent Odd Folks movie. A dark horse in the industry, Andy definitely abides by letting his riding do the walking and his style do the talking. Keep your eyes peeled for Andy in the upcoming Odd Folks Movie 2…we already know it’s going to be filled with insanity.
Ryland Bell Full Part
Watch in amazement as Ryland Bell hurdles himself into some of the gnarliest lines around the globe this year! Ryland has been dominating the big mountain scene for a while now and these 6 minutes of gnar, coupled with Metallica, showcases exactly why.
KORUA Shapes x Hokkaido
The crew from KORUA Shapes never disappoint with their yearning for turning approach to snowboarding. After becoming overwhelmed by tradeshow after tradeshow they booked a spontaneous trip to Japan in search of powder (not that hard) and adventure. This video is filmed around the Hokkaido region and highlights just how epic it really is!
Hoth
This edit from filmmaker Paul Osbourne aims to deliver one message – “Snowboarding moves too fast. Take some time to enjoy the simple things”. Enjoy watching snowboarding in its purest form. It’s hard to keep your eyes off the screen and even harder to resist the temptation to bust out the credit card and book a flight to somewhere with snow.
Ben Ferguson & Scotty James tear up Australia
Recent X Games Gold medallist Scotty James and everyone’s favourite snowboarder Ben Ferguson embarked on a drip down under last winter in search of snow, waves, open roads and good times.
This is a cool edit from the guys over at Harley Davidson documenting their September road trip to the Snowy Mountains and Victorian Alps whilst on motorcycles, highlighting the good times and how the boys can make do with whatever snow conditions are at stake.
They hit up Thredbo Resort for the 30 Years of Snowboarding event in September, with a mini hand-dug style pipe on offer, Ben and Scotty as seen, wasted no time pumping up the crowd and riding like bats out of hell.
Horizon Lines Find Left Hand Paradise – Chile
The Horizon Lines crew have pieced together another amazing edit documenting the snow and surf paradise that is Chile. The crew consists of right foot forward legends such as Jeremy Jones, Forrest Shearer, Alex Lopez and lone natural footer Nick Russell. From peaks to point breaks, these guys show just how amazing and unique Chile is to travel with the board.
Here’s an excerpt from the Horizon Lines crew summing up Chile quite nicely: “For those that live life sideways, Chile is a powerful vortex that attracts us to its towering, jagged mountains and barren coastlines”. Enjoy.
