ON THE GROUND REPORT
Aug 05 2026 07:08 AM: It is cloudy and foggy this morning, snowing lightly with 5cms overnight and snow showers are set to continue during the day. It is currently -1.6 in the village and -3.1 up the top with a moderate WNW wind, the forecast for westerly winds at 20-30km/hr throughout the day. ____________ The groomed runs are looking good this morning with a top layer of fresh snow on a hard-packed base and will be best early. It is variable off piste, firm in exposed areas but there are softer drifts of wind-blown snow. There is some low cloud/fog and visibility is poor in open areas, hopefully it improves by the time lifts open. __________________ Remaining showers should clear tonight for fine weather into the weekend ahead of strong system on Sunday. The Grasshopper says this could be the biggest stormof the season with potential for significant snow totals and he has all the details in today's forecast. There will be some fun turns on offer today, so break out the low-light goggles and have a good day.
