ON THE GROUND REPORT

Aug 23 2019 07:17 AM: Friday, August 23: It is a stunning morning on the hill. The sky is clear and there is not a puff of a breeze at the moment. The temperature is minus 2, heading for a top of 4 degrees, and the forecast is calling for the wind to pick up just enough to stop us from overheating. The snow has had a decent freeze overnight and is firm but the snow-makers had an ok run and there is enough grippy texture on the surface for really good turns on the groomers from the get go, and then we should have some great spring like conditions right across the hill as the day warms. East and North facing slopes both on and off piste will be the first to soften, so follow the sun for fun turns all day. Slap it on for a beaut one. Cheers, Bill
