ON THE GROUND REPORT

Aug 26 2026 06:57 AM: After some less than ideal damp, warm weather the good news is conditions have eased and look set to improve significantly as the day unfolds. The current temp is +2.7, headed for a top of +6 degrees and there's just a slight breeze from the west, which is expected to remain light for the day. The Village currently sits in a very light fog which also may burn off throughout the day. Unfortunately due to conditions HV and the Village Chair have closed however there will still be some fun turns to be had on the Summit, Big D and Road Runner Quads, plus the carpets for first timers. Stick to the open groomed terrain which feels soft underfoot and will become even more forgiving as the day warms. Night skiing is also scheduled for tonight down at the Big D and it looks as though we're in for an extended period of very user friendly weather for the remainder of the week. Get out there, have fun and make the most of it. Cheers, Burner.
