ON THE GROUND REPORT
Sep 15 2019 06:23 AM: The winds has picked up to a moderate westerly and there are some dark high clouds approaching. It looks threatening however the forecast is calling for a mainly dry day with just the chance of some light precipitation at some point. The temperature is a warm 2.9, heading for a top of 6 degrees. The snow has not really frozen but there is a shallow wind glaze on the surface which will break down very quickly with a little traffic or a spot of moisture. Either way, the turns will be really good on the groomed runs first thing and then soften further for soft snow fun as the day progresses. Off piste will also soften quicker than the last couple of mornings and will likely be best in the higher traffic areas. Sadly, due to a few critical link ups suffering from the warming of the past week, we lost Blue Ribbon yesterday. However we have had more than our share of great turns down that end of town this season, and almost all other areas of the hill are still in top shape. Get out there and make the most of it. Enjoy.
