ON THE GROUND REPORT

Jul 27 2024 06:28 AM: It is clear this morning, the temps currently -0.3 at the base in Perisher and -0.8 at the top of Mount P, the forecast for NW winds up high at 25-40km/hr. Cloud will increase later as another cold front approaches with snow developing late this afternoon and a good chance of 10cms by tomorrow morning. Thanks to colder temps and low humidity the snowmakers have had a good night with all the snowmaking areas getting a good top up. 44 lifts will open today and extensive grooming overnight have left the main runs in good shape with a top layer of corduroy on a firm base and wil be best early. It is variable off piste, icy in exposed areas but there are drifts of dryer snow and it's worth a look up at Mount P, Centre Valley and around the Ridge. No doubt it wil be a busy Saturday but with call but two lifts open the crowds will spread out after the early bottle neck. Have a great day.
