ON THE GROUND REPORT

Jul 02 2025 07:10 AM: Jul 02 2025 06:53 AM: Not the most pleasant morning with borderline rain/snow at the base in Perisher, rain below that but 10cms of wet snow has fallen above 1800 metres. The temps are currently +1.6 at the base in Perisher and zero at the top of Mount P with a southerly wind at 29-46km/hr. ............................ Visibility is poor in open areas and it is a day for the very keen with a cover of heavy fresh snow up high and rain affected snow on lower slopes at Smiggins and Blue Cow. 33 lifts are scheduled to open today, but check the resort site after 8am for lift status. ..................................This weather is set to continue until tomorrow afternoon and snow levels will fluctuate, with snow falling above 1800 metres but a mix at lower elevations before sunshine on Friday. Better news for next week and the Grasshopper's forecast today is looking good with a series of cold fronts set to drop significant snow totals - check it out for the details. Take care on the drive as there is slush on the road and have a good day. - Reggae
