ON THE GROUND REPORT
Sep 14 2024 06:28 AM: It is mainly clear this morning with some high cloud about, but the cloud cover will increase this morning as a cold front approaches with snow showers developing this afternoon. The temps are currently -1.5 at the base in Perisher and -1.2 at the topof Mount P, the forecast for westerly winds at 20-30km/hr, turning southetly late this afternoon. . . . The snow has set up with an overnight freeze and is firm now and will start to soften mid-morning. The groomers are doing a great job keeping the open runs in good shape with Front Valey, Leichhardt Loop and Towers the picks for some eary turns and 11 lifts are scheduled to open today. . . . We have a winter-like forecast for the next week with snow showers tonight and a run of cold nights with sub-zero temps ahead of another front and snow showers mid-week. Looks like the kind of winter weather we should have had a month ago, but it will help maintain the current snow cover. Another fun day ahead, get out there for a few Saturday turns and havea great day. - Regga
