Headpeace, a film from the North Face featuring Australian snowboarder Tess Cody is very different from the usual extended clip of a team athlete shredding the mountain and winning comps. It’s deeper and much more interesting.

“Sometimes, what we have built, it seems like it can come crashing down .. .and when it does ….  You’re  never ready….”

Tess is an amazing athlete, one who followed her dreams from a kid growing up in the inner Melbourne suburb of St Kilda to bronze medalist in slopestyle at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

She has faced some big hurdles, including blowing her ACL in practice prior to the slopestyle finals. Tess missed the entire 2018-2019 season, watching from the sidelines as the sport progressed. Not wanting to just “make up the numbers” Tess worked hard on her fitness and own performance level and was soon riding at the elite level, winning a slopestyle World Cup in Italy during her first season post-injury.

It a story of talent, dedication and commitment and Tess has been one of the world’s leading slopestyle and big air riders ever since.

Given the nature of the sport, Tess has suffered other injuries over the past 5 years, focused and working hard to return to the world she has built since she was 14-years-old.   However, that is a narrow world and after her last injury Tess has looked beyond it an discovered a world … ‘with more foundation, more perspective ….”

Headpeace follows Tess as she makes that discovery. A really cool film and one not to miss.
