Buckle up Australian Snowboarding because there’s a beast on the loose and it reeks of whiskey, two stroke fumes, and massive backcountry booters. That’s right, the legendary Canadian snowboarding crew; The Wildcats are bringing their new movie to town this coming Thursday.
If a king of crews had to be crowned, the Wildcats would take the throne. Amongst the VHS tape collections of snowboarders the world-over will be a dog-eared case housing a head-worn Wildcats cassette. From their first release in ’99 with Nine Lives, it was clear that the Wildcats were hell-bent on big tricks and huge parties, resulting in mass parental confiscation. It was raw and unadulterated chaos starring the biggest names in snowboarding: Devun Walsh, JF Pelchat, Dionne Delesalle, Kale Stevens, Chris brown and Max Jenke. Nine Lives set the formula that all ‘for the homies, by the homies’ films would soon attempt to replicate.
