After the first snowfall of the season fell on the evening of November 8, we awoke to an incredible morning. There was no wind, no clouds and a beautiful layer of fresh snow coating everything in the valley.

With a solid layer of 10-15cm at the base of the mountain, we thought that chances were good for some very rideable snow higher up. With a quick call to Sam from Niseko Xtreme Tours we were soon hiking up the mountain with everyone’s favourite dog, Woodley.

I’ll let the photos and the video do most of the talking…

Luckily, I Made it down to the base with only one small scratch on the board. An epic start to the season… And the season hasn’t even started yet!

Lifts start running on November 23.
