Snow Likelihood rating: A sure thing..
Region: Mt Ruapehu and surrounds.
A tasty looking snowfall is enroute to the North Island and it looks set to deliver 25-30 cm of new snow overnight into Wednesday. The Grasshopper is backing it and in his latest forecast he said, “A low pressure system approaches the North Island tonight and before it arrives it drags a band of precipitation across the Central North Island that will fall as snow across Ruapehu. We’re talking about 15 to 25cm overnight into Wednesday.”
It looks like the rest of Wednesday things should clear to flurries although there is still the chance some more snow showers will make it though. Expect some great skiing for New Zealand’s north over the next few days…
