Snowiest Month EVER at Mammoth Mountain
Mountainwatch | Richie Carroll
In your social feed over the weekend, amongst all the other painstaking images of people scoring pow, girls (and guys) in bikinis and POV beach cocktail shots you may have heard that Mammoth Mountain has just entered record breaking territory, boasting their snowiest month EVER!
Another storm took California by surprise over the past few days and is still hitting hard delivering 1.5 metres over the past 48 hours. Mammoth is currently sitting on a base depth of 7.3 metres measured at the top of the summit, making it the ski resort currently with the most snow in the United States.
See this image to get an idea for comparison (this was taken before current storm hit).
The resort had to shut yesterday and is running limited lift and run access today, however Mammoth has predicted that tomorrow is going to be the powder day of the season.
