This Is How You Land The Perfect Frontside 360 – Trick Tips
Transfer x Burton | Trick Tips
If you’re a budding snowboarder, with aspirations of rich and fame or if you’re just content with having fun and learning new things, learning the frontside 360 is a mandatory stop on your journey to heightened freestyle learning.
Along this path to frontside 360 enlightenment, Mikey Ciccarelli from the Canadian Snowboard Team will be you spiritual guide. Let him show you the way to obtaining a well executed and stylish frontside 360. Watch now or forever catch your heelside edge.
Watch closely as Mikey breaks it down into its three core elements:
- Takeoff
- Board and Body Placement
- Landing
Don’t be afraid to rub some style on it.
Additionally, keep in mind the following in’s and out’s during the learning process:
- Do’s
- Start small, get comfortable with going blind on the second 180 and then work your way up.
- On take off be mindful of how much pre-spin you’re doing. The frontside 360 doesn’t need too much pre-wind. If you’re over spinning, try going more flat based on the take-off.
- Grabbing helps, backhand grabs on your frontside edge are easiest while front hand grabs on your heel edge are most difficult.
- Always stay air-aware and watch for that landing.
- Dont’s
- Fail to commit to the second 180 will see you only make 270 degrees of rotation, which will result in you catching your heel edge.
- Overspin on the landing; keeping the trick controlled by floating out the first 270 and having the final rotation loaded up and ready to whip around once you feel that landing approaching.
Mikey will be back next week to help us learn more fundamental tricks that’ll heighten your freestyle learnings
