Transfer Issue 8 Photo Book Preview

Transfer’s annual hardcover Photo Book goes on sale today, with Ryan Tiene on the cover. It is the first issue to contain 150 pages of snowboarding goodness, where every single photo was taken in Australia and New Zealand. Hardcover to hardcover, it is a glossy documentary of the best shots you’ll see this year. Check out the interview with cover rider Ryan Tiene as we reveal the cover to him over Skype, Ryan also goes on to talk about his injuries, the session that bagged him the cover and he weighs up snowboard movies parts against webisodes and blogs.

As a photo book this is what it is all about, isn’t it? We have kept a sacred stash of the best images to land at Transfer over the past year, and painstakingly narrowed them down to the cream of the crop. Every photo is from the 2010 winter in Australia and New Zealand. Each one of these eighteen photos is run as a full double page. Each one screams ‘down under snowboarding’. The Transfer Photo Battle: Australia Vs New Zealand
Last winter, Transfer organized the inaugural Transfer Photo Battle. Two teams, one from either side of the Tasman, strived for the glory of their nation. Each team had free reign over a resort (Perisher Vs Snow Park), who helped by building custom features for the photo shoots. Best photo essay wins. And who won? That is for you to decide.
