After a super-strong start, we haven’t seen much from the Southern Lakes of late. The reason being that there has been a nearly endless flow of northerly winds that never seem to bring much snow. You can read more about why that is in The Grasshopper’s latest seasonal outlook.
In between the storms, local Wanaka rider Will Jackways linked up with Transfer senior photographer Johnny McCormack to get out and explore what was on offer at Treble Cone and the surrounding peaks. What they found really illustrates the profound beauty that’s on offer in New Zealand. With snow on the horizon, now would be a prime time to start planning a trip of your own.
