A big, fat, juicy high-pressure system keeps a lid on things for the next several days, bringing balmy, sunny springtime conditions. Perfect for t-shirt runs and goggle tans.

It’s unlikely the snow guns will get a look-in in Victoria, but they may get a whirl in New South Wales resorts during the early morning hours, the coldest part of the day. Low humidity will also help the snowmakers’ cause and will make for a firm surface before softening in the daytime heat.

Get out there and enjoy, as we’re unlikely to see a major improvement to these early-season conditions anytime soon, with no major snowfall this side of August.

Extended Forecast

We’re likely to see a little rain and high-altitude snow develop on Wednesday, the 22nd, before a cold change arrives on Thursday, the 23rd, with a potential dusting of snow. Resorts will also benefit from a period of good snowmaking conditions, which may continue for a few nights afterwards.

Beyond that, no major snowstorm is in the pipeline, but more weak frontal systems brushing past us may bring a mix of light rain and snow at times from Sunday, the 26th of July, through to the end of the month.

That’s all from me today, folks. I’m firing out these forecasts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the season, and an extra update on Sundays during peak season. Have a great couple of days, and I’ll see you back here on Sunday.
