Buller’s Summer Rail Jam Goes Off in Mansfield

Mountainwatch | Press Release
An exciting dump of snow arrived in Mansfield for this weekend to the delight of local skiers and snowboarders! The snow was courtesy of Buller Ski Lifts who carefully stockpiled the remaining snow cover as the 2026 winter season wrapped up in early September.
Four truck and trailer loads of snow were trucked from the mountain for a unique rail jam event in the Mansfield Botanical Gardens on Saturday, with plenty of talent on display as over 50 riders showed off their skills and tricks in the pop-up terrain park for the afternoon. Skiers and boarders including a mix of locals and interstate riders wowed spectators as they competed a prize pool of cash, Burton snowboards, HEAD skis and goggles from Oakley.

The stormy weather cleared perfectly for the three hours of the event and a bumper crowd gathered for the thrills and spills on the custom built terrain park.
The event was a collaborative effort between Mansfield Shire and Mt Buller and following the success of today it’s now slated to become a regular event on the October calendar in Mansfield.

This weekend marks the beginning of ‘green season’ for Mt Buller Mt Stirling alpine resort with Cup weekend seeing the start of access for bikes, walking trails and 4WDs for the summer months along with RockWire climbs. Sightseeing rides and chairlift access for mountain biking will commence from 5 December.
