VERBIER, Switzerland – October 29, 2026: Since 2008, the Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance (FWT) has taken riders to some of the finest freeride destinations on the planet. As the Tour approaches its 20th edition, the 53 athletes competing in 2027 can expect nothing less, with world-class terrain providing the ultimate stage to battle for the four FWT Champion titles. Three iconic stops have become fixtures of the FWT calendar and will feature once again in 2027: Baqueira Beret in Spain, Fieberbrunn in Austria, and the legendary Xtreme Verbier in Switzerland.

Val Thorens in France and Mestia in Georgia will be part of the calendar for this milestone season too. This year is also marked by a comeback: Snowbird, USA, is back on the map. Snowbird’s deep powder and steep alpine terrain take centre stage, bringing the FWT back to a venue it last visited in 2014. With six stops on the calendar, the stage is set for a season of exciting competition and closely contested battles for the FWT titles.

Athletes will compete across four regular season events, with their top three results counting toward qualification for a place in the FWT Finals.

Stop 1: Baqueira Beret Pro by Occident – January 16-17, 2027

The Pyrenees will once again take centre stage as the FWT kicks off in Baqueira Beret, with the season opener set on the demanding Tuc de Bacivèr. The face has witnessed some of the Tour’s most memorable descents in recent seasons. Baqueira Beret holds special significance for several riders, including Max Palm (SWE), winner in 2022 and 2023, and Justine Dufour-Lapointe (CAN), who dominated the Ski Women category in 2025 and 2026. Both will be looking to extend their winning streaks at the Spanish stop.

The full weather window runs from January 16–21, 2027.

Stop 2: Val Thorens Pro – January 25-26, 2027

The FWT returns for the third time to the French Alps for its second stop of the season in Val Thorens. Overlooking the resort, the steep face of Cime Caron will challenge riders to find the lines that set them apart. With 14 French riders on the roster, including five from Val Thorens, the home crowd will have plenty to cheer for. Defending event winners Victor de Le Rue (FRA) and  Noémie Equy (FRA) return to familiar terrain, while local siblings Lou Barin (FRA) and César Barin (FRA) will be eager to shine on home snow.

Stop 3: Georgia Pro – February 20-21, 2027

For its fourth edition in the Caucasus, the Georgia Pro will once again bring riders to Mestia and its fan-favourite Kakhiani face. After last year’s cancellation due to snow conditions, anticipation is high as athletes prepare to tackle Georgia’s renowned powder. Two-time winner Marcus Goguen (CAN) will be chasing a third victory on one of the Tour’s most distinctive terrains.

The full weather window runs from February 20–26, 2027.

Stop 4: Fieberbrunn Pro – March 3-9, 2027

An iconic fixture of the Tour since 2011, Fieberbrunn’s legendary Wildseeloder face will once again host the Cut, where riders battle for the final spots in the FWT Finals. After last year’s cancellation due to snow conditions, the stakes are higher than ever. For Max Hitzig (GER), who first made his name on this mountain, the Austrian stop holds special significance.

The Cut

After the first four events, only the top 60% of riders will qualify for the FWT Finals, a pivotal turning point in the season. Rankings are determined by each athlete’s best three results. Those who make The Cut will advance to two opposite terrain types of venues: the American heights of Snowbird in Utah and the steep, technical terrain of Verbier.

Finals 1: YETI Snowbird Pro by Stifel – March 16-17, 2027

The FWT returns to Snowbird, Utah, a renowned North American freeride destination recognized for its abundant snowfall, varied terrain, and consistent powder conditions.

Having first welcomed the FWT in 2014, Snowbird has a long history of freeride competitions dating back to 1998. Over the years, the resort has played an important role in the development of the American freeride scene, supporting a strong local community and producing talented athletes, including 2027 FWT riders Ross Tester (USA), Holden Samuels (USA) and Hannah Baldwin (USA).

Mount Baldy will host the first FWT Final of the season, challenging athletes to navigate steep, technical terrain while making strategic line choices and demonstrating their skills. With viewing opportunities from the base of Baldy, spectators will be able to follow the action as riders compete for crucial points in the race for the FWT titles.

The full weather window runs from March 16–22, 2027.

Finals 2: YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda – March 27-28, 2027

The FWT’s 20th edition will culminate on the legendary Bec des Rosses, where there is no room for hesitation and only four riders will be crowned FWT Champions. With thousands of Swiss supporters expected to watch the action, the pressure will be even greater for the five Swiss athletes, including four locals – Sybille Blanjean (SUI), Liam Rivera (SUI), Martin Bender (SUI) and Victor Hale-Woods (SUI) – who could qualify for the Finals in Verbier.

Having witnessed  historic moments like Liam Rivera’s (SUI) record-breaking score and Fynn Powell (NZL) first-ever double backflip on the Bec des Rosses, the Xtreme Verbier remains a stage where freeride history is made.

The full weather window runs from March 27 to April 4, 2027.
