Class Action Brought Against Vail Resorts After Early Closure of North American Resorts

A class action lawsuit has been launched in California against Vail resorts for failing to refund Epic Pass holders after the closure of its 34 North American resorts in late March due to the Covid19 pandemic.

According to classaction.org, the lawsuit alleges that after the resort closures Vail resorts has “failed to issue refunds to any customers for lost mountain access, choosing instead to simply defer auto-renewal charges for those with annual passes who did not pre-pay for the entire season.”

The plaintiff, Brian Hunt from Sam Ramon, California, bought a Tahoe Local season pass (accessing Northstar, Heavenly and Kirkwood) initiated the lawsuit on “behalf of himself and all others similarly situated” against Vail resorts. You can read the full complaint here.
