Covid 19 Traces Found in Sewage in Thredbo

Mountainwatch | News
At today’s 11am Covid press conference NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro said that Thredbo was one of a number of regional towns where fragments of the virus had been detected in the sewage.
NSW Health’s sewage surveillance program also found fragments at Temora, Merimbula, Port Macquarie, Dunbogan, Bonny Hills, Warren, Molong, Tamworth and Gunnedah.
Fragments were also detected in Cooma last week but there have been no cases in the Snowy Monaro region. However, NSW health urges everyone in the areas where fragments were detected “to monitor for the onset of symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received”.
The NSW resorts are currently closed as part of the state-wide lockdown which is in place for regional NSW until midnight September 10. However, the ski resorts have indicated that if the lockdown is lifted for the Snowy Monaro region they will re-open on September 11 for the last few weeks of the season.
