Only 18 Days To Go For The Australian Snow Season

September 16th, 2009

Press Release from Falls Creek

There’s only 18 days left in the winter season which will conclude on Sunday October 4. The good news is there’s plenty of snow in the aptly named Sun Valley for skiers and boarders.

In fact Falls Creek Alpine Resort has the most snow (81cm) and ski lifts (13) in Victoria.

The sunny September line has been used many times but it does sum up the current spring weather. Earlier in the week we had sub zero overnight temperatures, as low as minus 4C, which enabled the snowmaking team to produce additional snow on the alpine resort’s most popular terrain such as WombatsRamble, Broadway, Drovers Dream, Panorama, Main Street, Nastar, and the Drovers Beginner Park.

Chilly overnight temperatures are a bonus at this point of the snow season. It not provides a snow making window it also allows the groomer operators top produce classic ‘corduroy’ trails.

Boarders and skiers are making the most of what is left of a long winter season. White Space three day packages which include ski lift tickets, accommodation and snow equipment hire are 50% off peal season prices.
The official closing date of the 2009 winter season at Victoria’s largest alpine resort is Sunday October 4 so there’s still an opportunity for a final schuss before the lifts are turned off.
