Mountainwatch | Press Release

Thredbo, October 1: Thredbo Resort, a part of EVT, has today launched its Winter 2027 Season Pass Sale: the smartest way to lock in winter and save. Celebrating what will be its 70th anniversary, the sale offers unlimited access to the 2027 snow season from 12 June to 4 October. Adult pricing (25 to 64) starts at $1,729, the new young adult (18 to 24) rate starts at $1,379, and kids pricing (5 to 12) starts at $949, able to be secured for just a $49 deposit. With limited availability at this opening price before the tier sells out and pricing steps up.

This year’s sale introduces a dedicated pricing tier for young adults, 18 to 24 year olds, recognising that this stage of life can come with its own rhythm of study, first jobs and tighter budgets whilst still wanting to spend time with friends on the mountain.

“At $1,379 for Tier 1 pricing, it is a saving of up to 20% against the standard adult rate, making a full season on snow more achievable for students, apprentices and early career riders. “

As well as locking in the lowest price, guests can expect a season full of exclusive inclusions with their Winter 2027 Season Pass, including complimentary season pass protection, eight ‘bring a friend’ vouchers, discounts across retail, rental, food, beverage, Alpine Coaster and snowsports lessons. New this year, 1 Day ‘Bring a First Timer’ vouchers give up to 50% off a Friday Flat First Timer Package, making it easier for pass holders to bring a mate into the sport and help more Australians fall in love with winter. Guests can also add a 27/28 Ikon Base Pass for $599, unlocking 5 day or unlimited access to 60+ destinations across the Southern and Northern Hemispheres.

Lock in winter, unlock summer

Back again this year, the Summer 26/27 Upgrade lets guests save up to 25% on their 26/27 Mountain Bike Gravity Pass or Hiking Pass when they pay their Winter Season Pass in full. It is the easiest way for Thredbo regulars to keep the adventure going long after the lifts stop turning for winter.

This summer, the mountain is offering even more, with Thredbo’s Mountain Bike Park entering a new era. Three brand-new gravity trails are set to open this upcoming season:

– Double black diamond downhill track dropping from the top of Merritts Gondola, Thredbo’s most technical descent yet, built in partnership with Elevation Parks.

– Intermediate jumps trail from the Cruiser area through to Merritts mid-station, Thredbo’s longest jumps line with close to 50 jumps on offer.

– A new skills-based beginner trail on Friday Flat for those looking to level up, accessed from the Merritts Gondola mid-station.

Guests who upgrade to a Gravity Pass will be among the first to ride both.

Limited availability, rising prices

Once a tier sells out, there are no additional tickets at that price. Each tier has limited availability before pricing steps up. From 15 June 2027, or whenever the final tier sells through, pricing moves to the in-season rate. Guests who want the best possible price are encouraged to purchase early.

So much to celebrate

Thredbo Resort’s General Manager, Stuart Diver, says the Season Pass Sale rewards guests for their loyalty while making it easier than ever to plan next winter.

Winter 2027 also marks a milestone year for the resort, with Thredbo celebrating 70 years on the mountain. Guests locking in a Season Pass can expect a huge winter of activations and events throughout the season as Thredbo marks this landmark anniversary.

“Winter is when Thredbo really comes alive on and off the mountain, and the Winter 2027 Season Pass Sale is our way of thanking guests for being a part of it. Locking in early gets you the best price on lift access, plus a whole season of added value. And with Thredbo turning 70 next year, this is set to be one of the biggest winter activations we’ve ever put on,” said Mr Diver.
