For people that spend their Down Under winter in the snow, the first wave of ‘Groundhog Days’ hit around late July. You realise that for about a week you have been going through the motions. Not a lot unusual has happened. It’s just business as usual. No longer are you waking up and pinching yourself because winter is here. It is cold and the school holidays have finished. All of a sudden the energy in the mountains seems to have dipped.
By the middle of winter, it is easy to forget just how lucky you are to be spending time in the mountains. Hopefully these photos will provide a wake up call. There was absolutely nothing special about this day. But look at just how fun it is! Just cruising the park with friends, taking it easy and enjoying the post school holidays quiet in the ski resorts. It is a truly magical place to be. Now spring is just beginning and we’ve got a month of sun and snow still ahead of us. Bring on the spring ‘Groundhog Days’.
