As we wait for the first big storm of the season, we thought we’d look back at one of the snowboarding highlights of last winter, the Holy Bowly in Thredbo. This clip from Transfer snowboard magazine’s is an awesome edit by Boen Ferguson and a timely reminder of how good things be during the Australian season

For those not familiar with Hoy Bowly it is an event that has been held in a variety of Northern Hemisphere resorts over the past few years and is more of an expression session rather than a contest, aptly described as an, “annual international gathering of riders committed to getting as creative as possible”.

Last September Holy Bowly headed to the southern hemisphere for the first time, taking over Thredbos’ Antons terrain park for the week. It was great to watch as some of the world’s best snowboarders were in Thredbo to ride an amazing course built by Snowboy Productions and Thredbo Terrain Parks. And what a build – seven days – three snowcats, an excavator, countless hours and 15 hand shapers. The result was a collection of hand-shaped bowls, hips, spines, berms and transitions and as you’ll see there was no shortage of creativity on show.
