Chillfactor Podcast – Reggae’s Pre-Olympic chat with Aussie Mogul Gold Medalist Cooper Woods

Mountainwatch | Podcast interview
Reggae’s guest on this Chillfactor podcast is Australian mogul skier Cooper Woods, one of the most consistent athletes on the World Cup circuit and a key member of the Australian team since 2019/20. When this chat was recorded he was building towards Milan with a clear goal. Fast forward to the 2026 Winter Olympics and that ambition became reality, with Cooper delivering a superb run in Livigno to claim gold in the men’s moguls and secure Australia’s first medal of the Games.
Still only in his mid 20s, Cooper has quietly built one of the most impressive resumes in Australian freestyle skiing. A regular finals contender on the World Cup tour, his breakthrough result came in January 2024 when he claimed second place at Waterville Valley, USA, standing on the podium against the best mogul skiers in the world.
Cooper made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, finishing sixth in moguls, the highest placed Australian male in the event. It was a composed, confident performance that hinted at what was to come and laid the foundation for his rise to Olympic gold.
In this episode of Chillfactor, Reggae chats with Cooper about life on the World Cup tour, the intensity of mogul competition, Olympic pressure, and what it takes to consistently make finals in one of the most demanding disciplines in snowsports. They also dive into his Beijing experience, the lessons learned from injury, and how he is approaching the next two seasons with renewed belief and clarity.
