NSW kicked off winter with a stunning weekend at both Perisher and Thredbo. Perisher hosted its second Snowy Mountains of Music Festival, which was widely popular, and Thredbo kept guests entertained with drumming shows, stilt walkers and of course the famous opening weekend fireworks.

Super cold temps allowed for record nights of snowmaking and both resorts had more runs and lifts open than they’d powered up on an opening weekend for many a year. Here’s hoping it’s an indication of a bumper season…
