On Sunday morning the groundhog day of cloud-free skies that was July broke and snow began falling in earnest at Falls Creek.

The snow has continued to tumble and Mother Nature has turned on a show in the Alps since Sunday morning. Falls Creek received 37cm in the last 24hrs making 44cm the storm total to 6am this morning. 10cm at least has fallen today so no doubt there’s over half a metre of fresh in the storm total now!

The Snow density started quite heavy/wet – the ideal snow to set a strong base. The further the storm progressed the dryer the flakes got. It’s the storm we’ve been waiting for and finally it’s here!

Further falls are likely again on Wednesday and Thursday this week as another cold front lashes the state.

More snow is on the way. Check out the Falls Creek live snow cams forecasts and snow reports
