2011 ESS Billy Rail Jam Video

Saturday saw the annual ESS Billy rail jam go down at Erina, NSW with thousands of people turning out for this all-day family celebration of snow event consisting of skateboarding, snowboarding and even some pie throwing contests.

The main event was the snowboarding rail jam which was taken out by Daniel Harry Crean second place was Dane Tiene.

The 2nd Annual Ess x High Roller Energy Billy Jam was held on Sat 21st of May on a glorious sunny day ment for snowboarding and skating With this years rail set being even bigger than the last including a extended quater pipe/wallride section. The good weather brought out over a thousand people for a family fun day out with sideshow attractions from RED/ANON with their unusual testing centre which included Cream pies.

The amatuer snowboarders kicked off in the early afternoon to a fresh delivery of snow which started the day off with a bang. The riders were competing for thousands of dollars in prizes including a snowboard set up from burton and outerwear from 3CS & bindings from flux to name a few. The competition had amazing standards and showcased the up and coming talent on the australian shred scene. With the rad Throwdown award given to Hugh for his one footed Shenanigans.

Nikita Outerwear covered the girls comp with outerwear for first.

Meanwhile Monster skate park brought up their mobile street course to test the local skate crew with rad results. Bringing out some of the coasts best skaters out for the day, all 3 divisions were represented by under 13, under 16 and open pros. Anthony Bull taking out first in the opens and sparksie from Analog skate adopted him for the weekend with the rest of the Analog Skate Team.

Once the sun went down and the lights came on it was time for the open snowboard division which included the likes of Pete Long, Lance Rees, Andy LLoyd, Lucas Mcgrath, Tom Pelley and Dane Tiene with a celebrity appearence from Etinne Gilbert (old school wildcat /Quebecois and currently riding YES boards). The opens threw down for an hour while judges Amine (Yes,Flux) Marcus stocker (gnu/lib) and Yes Rider Shaun Belmore picked the top eight.

While the finals were being organised Forum put together the Forum Double Dog Eating comp was one with the winner eating the most dogs covered in a nice hot chilli for a Forum snowboard.

The amount of spin on spin off combinations was mind boggling with more than enough nose & tail presses, handplants and fast plants and one outstanding Tamedog. After all was said and done between stomps and slams, the crowd was screaming for more the comp was over.

First was taking out by Daniel ” Harry ” Crean who brought not only a mobile party crowd but a ridiculous amount of tricks including f/s 360 on tail press clean.

Next year we plan to challenge the opens with a more difficult setup and invitation only with a bigger purse !
