The first significant snowfall in Niseko was a welcome sight when the town awoke to 25cm of fresh snow on Monday morning. The heavy snow began around 9pm on Sunday night and continued until the early hours of Monday morning. Soon after there was some light rain, but that was quickly followed by more snow that ended up delivering another 15cm of fresh snow right down to the village in Hirafu.
As a result of the new snow, the resort team were quick to flick the switch, opening the top half of Grand Hirafu today.
