Valid Wednesday 13thJuly to Friday 15thJuly

Apart from some snow flurries for Mt Baw Baw today along with cold southerly winds, it’ll be mostly fair weather skiing these next few days as pressures gradually rise, with a high moving in overhead Friday.

Snowfall yesterday and overnight has benefited Victorian resorts the most, with about 20cm accumulating at Baw Baw, 10cms at Buller and 5cms for Falls and Hotham. While the light dusting over NSW resorts may not have been quite enough to soften off-piste areas, cold temps will see the snow guns continue their great run and will no doubt keep the main runs in good nick. Check out the daily snow reports for the fun details on conditions in each resort.

Wednesday 13th

The odd snow flurry on Baw Baw this morning will become more frequent this afternoon, with a few flurries possibly reaching Buller too. Elsewhere, skies should become bluer and bluer as clouds continue to break up. Brisk, cold southerly winds.

Thursday 14th

Low level cloud clagging up mid and lower slopes will clear for a fine afternoon, although some cloud will linger over Baw Baw. Freezing southerlies gradually ease while tending southwest.

Friday 15th

A happy and mostly sunny day, with a SW breeze dropping away.

Extended Forecast

Cloud and NW winds build Saturday, with some light snowfall possible, before a cold front hits late Sunday. Snow should fall Sunday through Monday, but freezing levels may creep up a little during Sunday with rain and sleet possible on lower slopes for a time. Models aren’t in good agreement however, with accumulations varying from a little to a moderate amount – I’m going with 5-15cm, so that we can be pleasantly surprised if we get more than that!

Another weather system is likely between the 22nd-24thJuly, with a mix of rain and snow on the cards.

That’s all from me today folks, get out there and make the most of these great conditions. I’m sending out these forecasts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
