The spirit of FreeBOM is alive. Buller is skiing so well people haven’t ridden Blue Bullet, ABOM and Wombat in weeks. And this weekend is shaping up to be magnificent; in every way we know Buller can be.

Let’s take excitement levels up a few hundred meters. Olympians, Britt Cox and Brodie Summers have signed up and will be toughing it out for the much-desired FreeBOM award, awarded to the person that embodies the FreeBOM spirit most. What is FreeBOM spirit? Watch the promo video again. This may just be the best chance you will ever get to beat an Olympian… because FreeBOMing has nothing to do with how well you ski.

The FreeBOMing will continue into the night as we “gate crash” the Olympic Winter Institute Gold Party fundraiser. Traditionally, this has been a formal black tie gala with too many speeches and little ribbons. However, this year they have taken a leaf out of FreeBOM’s book and realised that people just want Aperol Spritzers and DJ Eddy.

So, Après Ski professional DJ Eddy from Mt Hotham will be making the trek in his light aircraft to get behind the decks and fire up the d-floor. Plus we will be spoiled with unbounded Aperol, beer, wine, food, and Olympians. (Did you know that with 11 athletes, Mt Buller was home to more Olympians at Sochi than any other ski resort in the world?). So come and support the team. Tickets $85 all-inclusive at http://bit.ly/owiagold

Remember rain can’t melt a smile and we all know Buller’s terrain isn’t going anywhere, its just getting softer. So get excited for all the weekend festivities.

• The Kirstie Marshall award for best Female performance.
• The Nick Cleaver award for best Male performance.
