Vail Resorts have announced that its day passes will be on sale from tomorrow and in order to avoid the kind of melt-down Thredbo’s online store suffered on Thursday, it has staggered the sale of tickets for its three Australian resorts over two days.

Hotham and Falls Creek day passes will be available for online purchase tomorrow while Perisher passes go on sale on Tuesday morning.

Last week Vail announced the operating plans for its Australian resorts this winter, which included the big news that Epic Australia Passes will be honoured for the 2020 season. Although Epic Pass holders will have to book in dates from June 24 to July, from July 13, last week’s release said season pass holders  “will enjoy their season pass access without the need for a reservation at Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham.”

As per the Covid Safe operating plan approved by the Victorian and NSW governments Falls, Hotham and Perisher are restricted to operating at a 50% capacity. The actual number of skiers/boarders permitted on the snow on any day is determined by the amount of terrain open and to manage this only multi-day passes will initially be available and they have to be pre-purchased on line.

The prices for lift tickets or for Perisher’s ski tube were not included in the  information released today. The details are below:

Thank you for your continued patience. We want to provide you with some important information regarding your 2020 Epic Australia Pass and the reservations process for early season access.

Pass Options:

If you do not wish to proceed with your 2020 Epic Australia Pass purchase, you can obtain a refund by making a request here no later than 19 June.

If you do not elect to obtain a refund by 19 June, you will be charged the final payment for your 2020 Epic Australia Pass on 22 June. Please ensure your credit card details are up to date by logging on to your account to ensure that the payment is processed without delay.

Reservations:

From 23 June, 2020 Epic Australia Pass, 2019-20 Epic Pass and 2019-20 Epic Military Pass holders will be able to make access reservations for the 24 June to 12 July period. For those without a season pass, 3+ day consecutive lift tickets for this period will go on sale for Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham on 15 June.

Please note: these lift ticket sales will not impact the ability of pass holders to make reservations for the same early season time period. While reservations will be limited, and are not guaranteed, season pass holders will have access to a separate reservations pool in an effort to provide priority early season access.
