DEW TOUR – Stop 2, Killington, Begins Friday

Winter Dew Tour

Over 140 of the best freeski and snowboard athletes will compete this weekend at Killington Resort on the second stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour season. Welcoming the Tour for the first time, Killington Resort will host the four-day event that features competitions with the top winter action sports athletes in freeskiing (slopestyle and superpipe) and snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe). The three-stop Tour will conclude with the Toyota Championships at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah February 10-13, 2011.

The star-studded field of athletes competing in this weekend’s Winter Dew Tour at Killington includes reigning Dew Cup champions, Olympians and rising stars. Among them are:

Snowboard (SNB)
Louie Vito (men’s SNB pipe): 2010 Vancouver Olympian and 1st place snowboard superpipe finisher at last month’s Nike 6.0 Open in Breckenridge
Mason Aguirre (men’s SNB pipe/slope): Olympian in 2006 and competing in both superpipe and slopestyle this weekend
Torstein Horgmo (men’s SNB slope): Winter X Games 2010 silver medalist, second in 2009-10 Dew Cup standings, 1st place snowboard slopestyle finisher at Breckenridge’s Nike 6.0 Open
Sage Kotsenburg (men’s SNB slope): sixteen-year-old 2009-10 defending Dew Cup Champion
*Queralt Castelle*t (women’s SNB pipe): two-time 1st place women’s snowboard superpipe finisher at Winter Dew Tour’s season-opening event in Breckenridge
Elena Hight (women’s SNB pipe): Olympian in 2006 and 2010 and 2nd place women’s snowboard superpipe finisher at Nike 6.0 Open in Breckenridge
Jamie Anderson (women’s SNB slope): Winter X Games 2010 silver medalist, 2009-10 defending Dew Cup Champion and 1st place women’s snowboard superpipe finisher at the Nike 6.0 Open in Breckenridge

Highlighting the four-day competition schedule are Saturday’s Superpipe Finals. Following the snowboard superpipe finals, the freeski superpipe finals will be held under the lights as Killington Resort debuts their 22-foot pipe live on NBC. Beyond the competitions, Winter Dew Tour’s VIP Party featuring world-renowned DJ Cassidy will be held at the Wobbly Barn Friday, January 21st at 9pm. Tickets are just $20 and available at the door.
