Gallery – Whistler 140cms This Last Week

January 19th, 2010

In the last 7 days at Whistler Canada, 136 cms of fresh snow has fallen across the resort with one incredible 24 hour dump of 70cms that put some big smiles on the faces of the punters and resort management, whom have the big “O” looming in their minds.

Whistler is the host to the Alpine events at this years Winter Olympics that includes Downhill Skiing, GS, Super G and also the Nordic events like ski jumping and cross country.

Here are some pics from the last weeks snowfall.

Snow laden chairlifts makes for some hard yakka for the mostly Australian lifties.

Lifties and locals getting their due. A sunny 70cm powder day at Whistler – doesn’t get much better for boarders.

Fields of fresh pow laying in wait.

The roof of the Solar coaster chair on Blackcomb mountain is one of the main access points and was loaded under the weight of the storm.
