HOTHAM Photo Snow Report – Sunshine Precedes the Storm

July 4th, 2011

Sunset over the village. School holidays begin this coming week so the village is likely to get much more lively

The calm before the storm. In the week prior to school holidays, Hotham was peaceful, those in the resort enjoyed quiet slopes and sunshine.

But the storm will arrive, literally, this week. Over half a metre of snow is forecast, which should make for some interesting times on the road as the school holiday crowd wrestle with chains and cope with icy conditions.

It got beachy really quick early in the week. There seemed to be a lot of beer vanishing. More on that later…

No prize for guessing what this is a shot of. Note the absence people. It was beautifully quiet this week, it seemed like the resort had opened for a private function and nobody had turned up. June riding can be nice like that

It’s still a bit thin to go for a walk out the back for some long lines

Gratuitous Hotham sunset scenic. Sucks to be stuck in the city, huh?

Mt Feathertop

The cross hasn’t formed properly yet, and the snow beneath it is quite thin. Oh well, it’s only the last week of June…

Awful. Disgusting. As if you’d drink all that Boags!

A lot of the roofs are loosing their winter coat of snow. It has been very sunny
