MOUNTAINWATCH TOURS – JACKSON HOLE

Fresh on the announcement of our Mountainwatch tours to Japan, we now have a Mountainwatch Tour to what many regard as the best ski resort in North America – Jackson Hole.

Jackson is pretty well on everyone’s bucket list, the iconic US resort famous for big mountain terrain, cowboys, elks and deep, dry, Wyoming powder.

While Jackson Hole has a well-deserved reputation for its steep in-bounds terrain and accessible backcountry, it is not just for the hardcore skier or boarder. Jackson also offers long, corduroy-laden groomers, a modern sophisticated lift system, and a dedicated kids area which will have its own day lodge for the 2018/19 winter. It also has plenty to do off-snow, including wild-life tours into the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. The town of Jackson, a 20-minute drive from the mountain, has a classic western-feel and a number of bars, restaurants and galleries. Teton Village, at the base of the mountain and where our tours are accommodated, is also well-serviced with hotels, restaurants and bars, including the iconic Mangy Moose.

Ski through deep, dry Wyoming powder

Jackson Hole is big, covering 2500acres of skiable terrain with a huge variety of terrain on and off piste. In a resort that size, a bit of local knowledge goes a long way in helping you get the best snow on any given day and we cater for that with Australian big mountain skier Coen Bennie-Faull as your guide.

Jackson Hole has a huge variety of terrain on and off piste.

Coen, who won the Buller X comp last year, has spent the past five winters in Jackson and knows the resort and surrounding side country as well as anyone. He has extensive back country skills and avalanche training, so is the perfect guide to explore everything Jackson Hole has to offer.  To top it off Coen is a freeride coach at Hotham and a full-cert ski instructor, so has the knowledge to assess the ability of each rider in the group and choose the day’s terrain accordingly.

Jackson Hole’s renowned “Cowboy Powder” is dry because of the cold temps so to keep you warm and get the best out of the snow, you’ll also receive a merino/bamboo base layer and neck warmer from Le Bent plus a hoodie from The North Face.

The town of Jackson has a classic Western feel
