The Second Stop of the Natural Selection Tour has wrapped up with Canada’s Dustin Craven winning the men’s and New Zealand’s Zoi Zadowski-Synott, fresh off her Olympic campaign when she won gold and silver, taking the women’s.

Held at Baldface Lodge in BC’s Selkirk Mountains, the venue was the steep natural feature-laden area called Scary Cherry and a heap of man-made features thrown in for good measure. 14 of the world’s best snowboarders, including five women, were involved and they turned on an super strong display of progressive and flowing riding through the 676 metres vertical freeriding playground.

 

The winners

Dustin Craven took out Mikkel Bang (Norway) in the men’s final with Travis Rice (USA) and Ben Ferguson (USA) finishing third after bowing out in the semis, Rice losing to Craven while Bang defeated Ferguson.

Zoi Sadowski-Synott’s all-round snowboarding credentials are now hard to beat, the Olympics slopestyle gold medallist now adding this win in the number one backcountry event other 2022 swag. Elena Hight (USA) finished second ahead of Marion Haerty (France) and Hanna Beaman (USA). The top 12 riders now head to Alaska for the final event at Tordillo Mountain Lodge, scheduled for March 20-27.
