Snow Journal 18 – 19 January
A snow-bringing front swept across Northern Colorado on January 18 and 19 and Breckenridge and Vail resorts reaped the benefits. Breckenridge recorded an impressive 73cm of new snow in the 48 hour period, Vail saw 45cm.
In an already impressive season this is just the latest in a line-up of epic storms that have made for day after day of powder face shots and endless freshies. Breckenridge now has a snowbase of over 2m, and Vail is sporting a 140cm base, with a season snowfall total so far of well over 6m.
The forecast is predicting light snow in both resorts for the rest of the week, with some very cold temperatures, which will keep the powder dry and light for a long time yet.
